A web page, not an app to install
The remote opens at froozbooth.com/telecommande, signed in with your dashboard account. It is built for phones and can be added to the home screen like an app: an icon, full screen, one tap to open. Nothing to download from an app store, nothing to pair booth by booth.
- The whole fleetEvery booth on the account on one page, across one or several events on the same night.
- In secondsThe booth receives the action within 2 to 3 seconds, not a minute later.
- Over the internetYour phone’s 4G is enough: no need to join the venue Wi-Fi.
The phone does not talk to the booth directly: both go through the Froozbooth cloud. That is on purpose. Venue Wi-Fi is rarely reliable, and an operator watching two weddings 20 miles apart cannot be on both networks.
Every booth’s status, live
Each booth has its own card, refreshed every 5 seconds. At a glance you know whether it is serving guests, paused, has its settings open on site, or how long it has been silent.
| Indicator | What it shows | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Serving, paused, pause scheduled, settings open, offline | Know whether guests can use it right now |
| Camera | Ready or unplugged | A loose USB cable shows up before the queue does |
| Printer and paper | Faulty or ready, prints left | Swap the roll before it runs out, not after |
| Battery | Level and charging, on iPad and iPhone | Plug the tablet in before it dies |
| Uploads | Photos waiting to reach the gallery | Spot a dropped connection |
| Last photo | Time of the last capture | See whether the booth is actually being used |
| Event and template | What the booth is running right now | Check it is on the right night |
Below the cards, the event’s latest photos and videos appear as they are taken. You see what guests see without going near the screen: a framing that has shifted or photos that are too dark stand out immediately.
The actions that save you a walk across the room
- Pause and resume: the booth shows “Back in a moment” during the speeches or the first dance. If a guest is mid-session, the pause waits until they are done.
- Reprint: the last print in one tap, or any photo from the night, on the booth of your choice, 1 to 5 copies. The event’s print limit is respected.
- Switch event: the booth downloads the other event and opens it, never in the middle of a guest session.
- Lock a template: a single frame for this booth tonight, or give the choice back to guests. The event’s template does not change.
- Unstick: a guest walked away mid-session, the booth returns to the welcome screen. Anything already delivered is kept.
- Retry uploads, take a test shot, restart the booth (two taps, to avoid accidents).
On a gallery photo, three more actions: reprint it, hide it from the gallery (and show it again), or delete it after confirmation. Handy when a guest asks you to remove a shot they dislike, without waiting for the end of the night.

Commands that tell the truth
A remote command with no feedback is worse than no command: you think the photo was reprinted, and the guest waits by the printer. On the remote, every action goes through visible states — sent, received, done or failed — and the booth replies with a readable sentence: “A guest is using the booth: try again when they are done.”
- A command the booth does not receive within 10 minutes is dropped: it will not fire the next day at another event.
- A command received but left unanswered for 5 minutes is marked “No response”.
- Each command runs only once, even if the network hiccups: no double reprints.
- A paused booth stays paused after a restart.
- Only the actions the booth can perform are offered: an iPad 360 booth has no “Reprint” button.
Alerts on your phone, even when locked
Opening the remote every ten minutes is no way to spend an evening. Turn on alerts from the bell on the page: your phone tells you on its own, even when locked, when a booth needs you.
- Paper low, then paper out.
- Printer fault, camera unplugged, disk almost full.
- Uploads stuck for 30 minutes.
One notification per booth, updated rather than stacked; tapping it opens the remote. The same alerts also go out by email, with an hourly reminder while a blocking fault lasts. On iPhone, web notifications need iOS 16.4 or later and the remote opened from its home screen icon; the page walks you through it.
Windows, web booth, iPad and 360
The remote drives every Froozbooth booth: the Windows booth with a DSLR and printer, the web booth running in a browser, and the iPhone and iPad app. For a 360 platform run by the iOS app, it starts and stops the spin just like the booth’s own trigger, and shows its phase: countdown, recording, editing, video ready. The web booth: a photo booth in the browser
| Action | Windows and web booth | iOS app (360) |
|---|---|---|
| Pause, resume, restart, unstick | Yes | Yes |
| Switch event, retry uploads | Yes | Yes |
| Reprint, choose copies | Yes | Not applicable |
| Lock a template, test shot | Yes | Not applicable |
| Start and stop the 360 spin | Not applicable | Yes |
What it does not do yet
Better to know before the event. The remote cannot yet adjust camera settings (exposure, ISO, shutter speed): if the venue lighting changes, you need to go to the booth. It does not start a photo session on a guest’s behalf either, apart from the 360 spin, and guests cannot drive the booth from their own phones.
Booth Copilot, the remote for LumaBooth and dslrBooth, does offer remote camera settings. It does, however, require an app to install, controls one booth at a time and shows neither paper left nor the upload queue. Froozbooth makes the opposite choice: the whole fleet, hardware health and alerts, from a plain browser. LumaBooth alternative: the full comparison
Which plan includes it?
The remote is included in the Pro plan, at €29 a month or €279 a year with up to ten machines, and in the free 15-day trial. A Solo account sees what it does and can upgrade to Pro from its settings; the basic commands (pause, resume, restart, reprint the last photo) remain available from the dashboard’s Booths page with the Cloud+ add-on. Photo booth software prices: what each plan includes
- Open froozbooth.com/telecommande on your phone and sign in.
- Add the page to your home screen: Share then “Add to Home Screen” on iPhone, “Install” on Android.
- Tap the bell to turn on alerts, then “Send a test”.
- Before the event, pause a booth and resume it: you know everything responds.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app to use the remote?
No. It is a web page, froozbooth.com/telecommande, that opens in your phone’s browser with your dashboard account. You can add it to the home screen to open it like an app, full screen.
Does my phone need to be on the same Wi-Fi as the booth?
No. Both the phone and the booth go through the internet: your phone’s 4G is enough, and you can watch a booth set up in another city. The booth needs a connection to receive actions; offline, it keeps working normally for guests.
How long does the booth take to carry out an action?
Usually two to three seconds. The booth is notified as soon as a command is sent and checks for commands every few seconds while it is serving. The remote shows the result as soon as the booth reports back.
What happens if the booth is off when I send a command?
The command waits 10 minutes. If the booth comes back within that time, it runs it; otherwise the command is dropped and marked as expired. It will never fire the next day at another event.
Can I pause the booth while a guest is using it?
Yes, without cutting them off: the pause waits for the end of their session, and the remote says so (“Pause at the end of the current session”). Switching events follows the same rule: never in the middle of a pose.
Do alerts work on iPhone?
Yes, on iOS 16.4 or later, as long as you open the remote from its home screen icon: that is Apple’s rule for web notifications. On Android, Chrome receives them directly. Alerts also go out by email in every case.
Can several people use the remote?
Anyone signed in to the account can open it, on as many phones as needed, and each phone can receive alerts. Restricted access for an assistant, without the account settings, does not exist yet.
Can I adjust camera exposure remotely?
Not yet. The remote shows the latest photos, so you can spot images that are too dark, and offers a test shot; exposure is still adjusted on the booth.
Is the remote included in the Solo plan?
No, it is included in Pro (€29 a month or €279 a year) and in the 15-day trial. On Solo, the Cloud+ add-on gives access to the basic commands from the dashboard’s Booths page: pause, resume, restart and reprint the last photo.
Does it work with the 360 platform?
Yes, with the Froozbooth app for iPhone and iPad: the remote starts and stops the spin and shows its phase live. The video from a spin stopped partway is neither edited nor uploaded.
